The Catawba Indian Nation now is located in north central South Carolina in the center of an area which once comprised Catawba territory, about 8 miles east of Rock Hill, South Carolina. Over 2,165 Catawba are listed on the official tribal role. Of these 2,165 persons, the majority lives either on or within 20 miles of the reservation. Of the contemporary Catawba population, 97 families live on the reservation. The total reservation population is about 300 persons. The Catawba are still a proud people.They continue to make pottery, sing, dance, drum and share their heritage and culture.

Experience living history, including the African American story, at this 775-acre Revolutionary War site. Explore the Bratton Plantation, owned and lived on by three generations of the Bratton family.

Houses notable collections of Native American artifacts, firearms from the Revolutionary era to the present, period costumes and relics from the Civil War and a recreated late 18th Century parlor of Samuel McAliley in a 1914 jail behind the county courthouse. Open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 1am to 3pm. Admission is $3 per adult, $2 for senior citizens and students over 12. Under 12 is free. School groups are free. Group rates available. We are a real farming operation and have been producing cotton, small grains, straw, peaches, vegetables, and timber since 1882.

The Shoppes at River’s Edge opened in June of 2010 as a multi-merchant operation with a huge assortment of goods ranging from antiques, to jewelry, to sports memorabilia, gift baskets, furniture and tons of home decor. We wanted to bring this type of business to the Rock Hill area as it offers a smorgasbord of items for sale under one roof. With the effects of the recession still very much in play we felt this business-within-a-business approach would be a creative way for people to find that entrepreneurial spirit and act upon it. The Shoppes at River’s Edge is always in flux, creating an excitement amongst our customers as they see a great number of items being presented.
